All of my ceramics are made using ancient building techniques and sustainably harvested materials. The process includes; hand-building using wild gathered clay, painting using a yucca leaf brush, using plant based or natural mineral based paints, and wood firing in a trench kiln or surface fire. Each pot is unique in form and character, and embodies its own story. I do my best to describe each pot in detail and note any minor cracks, chips, or other structural flaws. Please check photos carefully and read descriptions before purchasing. Thank you!
Care of an earthen ware pot: These pots are "earthenware" vessels and are porous. Food and beverage will seep in to the wall of the pot slightly. This mild percolation is normal and will not harm you or your pot. To clean just rinse with warm water and let air dry. Do not use soap. Do not let sit in water or stay damp as this can encourage bacteria and mildew to grow. Do not use in dishwasher or microwave. For a more thorough cleaning use an oven and "bake" your pot on the highest setting (usually 500F).
