This is a micaceous clay wedding vase. The clay body is a mix of four different wild clays from the four corners area, slipped with a beautiful shining micaceous clay from New Mexico. The shape of the vase, with one body joining two separate spouts symbolizes two becoming one for one purpose in life. I’ve made just a handful of these wedding vases and this one is by far the best shape and color.
The wedding vase (one body, two necks) is an ancient form and is found in the prehistoric record in the southwest.
