This is a double handled black on white Fremont style jar. The double handle is a common Fremont style characteristic, but the bold geometrical design is more typical of the pottery we see in regions farther south, so this jar is a great example of the overlap of these ancient cultures that we see in certain locations in Utah. This jar is painted with organic paint made from rocky mountain bee plant. There is a small chip in the rim (see photos).

All my pottery is hand made from wild harvested clay, hand painted with either organic or mineral paints using a yucca brush. I fire the pots in a trench-pit fire. All materials used are collected and refined by me.
